First: “Disable” is often safer than “Delete”
If you’re still traveling, the plan is still valid, or reinstall policy is unclear, don’t delete—turn off (disable) the line instead.
1) iPhone: Turn off (disable) vs Delete eSIM
Turn off eSIM (recommended)
- Settings > Cellular
- Select travel eSIM
- Turn Turn On This Line OFF
Delete eSIM (remove completely)
- Settings > Cellular
- Select the eSIM to remove
- Tap Remove eSIM
2) Galaxy: Turn off (disable) vs Delete eSIM
Turn off eSIM (recommended)
- Settings > Connections > SIM manager
- Disable the eSIM
Delete eSIM (remove profile)
- Settings > Connections > SIM manager
- Select the eSIM to remove
- Delete eSIM
According to Samsung, deleting eSIM in device settings does not cancel the plan; it only removes the profile from the device. To cancel or suspend the plan, contact the carrier/provider.
3) When is it OK to delete?
- Trip is over, plan has expired, and you don’t plan to use it again → OK to delete.
- Check provider policy first: re-download may be disallowed or cost extra.
4) Before deleting (checklist)
- Is the plan really expired?
- Is reinstall allowed? (Many are one-time only)
- Have you kept QR/order number for proof if needed?
