China Travel: eSIM, VPN, and Roaming

TL;DR

• China: Many global sites/apps are restricted; eSIM gives data but you may need a VPN for access.
• Check if your eSIM plan covers China (Hong Kong/Macau often separate). VPN is your responsibility—choose a reliable one.
• Install eSIM before departure; VPN app install and setup before or after arrival (VPN may be restricted locally).
