Calls over the internet

Make calls using internet data on the esimoa website, app or Toss. You need Wi-Fi or mobile data. Free eligibility depends on your plan, location and phone verification as described below.

This is separate from carrier voice roaming in your phone’s regular dialer. Check remaining free minutes and credit charges on the esimoa call screen before calling.

Who Gets the 100 Free Minutes

You can start using it once the eSIM is activated at your destination.

How to Verify Your Number

You only need to do this once, before your first free call.

1. Tap Verify number on the call screen. (If you press Call before verifying, a verification notice appears.)
2. Choose your country, enter your phone number and tap Send code.
3. Enter the code from the text message and tap Verify.

• Verifying on the website, the app or Toss applies to the same account everywhere.
• You can't verify without purchase history. Only accounts that have bought an eSIM or charged credits can receive a code.

Where Can I Call From, and Which Numbers?

Free calls (100 minutes)

• Free calls work only from abroad to Korea, or within the travel country of the eSIM you bought.
• They don't work while you're still at home — you can't try a free call before you leave.
• They also don't work in countries that aren't covered by your eSIM, such as a layover stop.

Why the restriction? To prevent voice phishing. We check the location (country) you're connecting from when you place a call and require number verification, so only travelers who are actually abroad can use it.

Credit Calls (Paid)

• You can also call ordinary international numbers. These aren't part of the 100 free minutes, so they cost extra and you can make them after charging credits.
• Credit calls work anywhere, including Korea.
• Rates vary by country. You can charge credits on My Page.

Calling from the Website

1. Tap Calls in the top menu of the esimoa website.
2. Sign in to your esimoa account.
3. If it's your first time, verify your number with Verify number.
4. When your browser asks for microphone access, tap Allow.
5. Choose a country, enter the number and press the call button.

Good to know on the web

• Web calls go out from a shared caller ID. The person you call sees the shared number, not yours.
• You can't receive calls on the web. Receiving calls works only in the app.
• When the 100 free minutes run out, you can't call Korean or travel-country numbers on the web any more (it doesn't continue on credits). Other international numbers can still be called with credits.

Calling from the App

1. Install the esimoa app and sign in with the account you used to buy the eSIM.
2. Tap the Call tab at the bottom.
3. If it's your first time, verify your number with Verify number.
4. Enter the number and press the call button.

Only in the app

• Receive calls — get your own number in the app to receive calls on it.
• Call from your own number — call from your verified number, and keep calling with credits after the 100 free minutes are used up.

Before You Call

• An eSIM whose roaming calls (free calls) have been used can't be refunded. See the refund policy for other conditions.
• Because calls run over data, call quality depends on your connection. If the signal is weak, try calling on Wi-Fi.
