Three checks before purchase
- Exact model number and purchase region: check About Phone in settings. A shared product name does not mean identical regional hardware.
- Add eSIM menu: look for it using the paths below.
- Carrier lock: confirm the phone accepts another provider using the lock guide.

Names vary by OS. An EID in device information is a useful clue, but does not guarantee compatibility with every travel eSIM.
Compare with manufacturer guidance
iPhone XS and XR and later include eSIM-capable models, with regional exceptions. Galaxy and Pixel support also varies by model, region and carrier. Do not assume an entire series is supported.
